War at Sea

Survivors of the 4th Royal Marine Battalion hold a ballot to decide who should receive the two Victoria Crosses they have been allocated for the Zeebrugge Raid. The medals go to Captain Bamford and Sergeant Finch.

US Destroyer USS Steward (DD-13) is damaged in a collision with a merchant ship in fog at sea.

Wickes class destroyer USS Kimberly (DD-80) is commissioned. She served in European waters during the First World War, but was scrapped soon after the end of the war
