Samurai Heraldry, S.R. Turnbull

Samurai Heraldry, S.R. Turnbull

Another excellent book by the prolific team of Dr Turnbull and Angus McBride this time filling a big gap in the osprey series covering the samurai, that of heraldry. Well illustrated mainly with black and white pictures and diagrams it is a fascinating guide to samurai heraldry and also contains some colour plates to the usual high osprey standard although since these are mainly of banners the subject matter is rather uninspired for colour plates.  A very useful tool for those wargamers painting armies of this period and has a section on wargaming.
