Who's Who in Military History, John Keegan and Andrew Wheatcroft

Who's Who in Military History, John Keegan and Andrew Wheatcroft

From 1453 to the Present Day

This book contains a series of short biographies of at least one thousand of the most important figures in military history (although the exact number of people covered is not actually mentioned anywhere in the book). The biographies are supported by a number of clear maps for the most important wars, starting with the Thirty Years War.

The biographies vary in length from 30 word mini-articles to full page studies of the most important figures. Keegan and Wheatcroft cover a wide range of periods and conflicts, making this the sort of book that one can always dip into and find something new.

This is the third edition of an excellent reference work, which is a very good starting point for anyone who is interesting in the careers of the most famous military figures of the last 550 years.
