Republic XP-47E Thunderbolt

The sole XP-47E was something of a test bed. Originally the last P-47B, it was first used to test a pressurised cockpit in 1943-4. It was also used to test the Pratt & Whitney R-2800-59 engine, providing 2,300hp. Finally, it was used to test the Hamilton Standard hydramatic propeller.
