Partisan (Partizan)

A member of an armed resistance group within an occupied country. The important point to note is 'an occupied country' therefore a member of a liberation movement fighting against their own government or during a civil war is not a partizan. Examples include French or Yugoslavian resistance movements during the Second World War who fought against occupying German/Axis forces.
