Battle of Mingolsheim, 27 April 1622

Battle during the Thirty Years War. Mansfeld, commanding one of three Protestant armies, attempted to prevent the Bavarian army ofTilly and the Spanish army of Cordoba from meeting. At Mingolsheim Mansfeld intercepted and defeated Tilly, but he only delayed the junction of the two Catholic armies, who were together by early May.
