Wreckage from battle of Bismarck Sea
Here we see the wreckage and some survivors from one of the Japanese ships sunk during the battle of the Bismarck Sea (2-4 March 1943), where US aircraft from the 5th Air Force destroyed a Japanese convoy heading for New Guinea. Only 1,000 reinforcements reached their destination, mainly lacking equipment.
