Plans of Westland Welkin
These plans of the high altitude Westland Welkin I show its long wings, designed to give it the best possible high altitude performance and stability. The Welkin was developed to deal with the threat of high altitude German reconnaissance aircraft, but by the time it was ready the threat was over, and it never entered operational service.
