Lt D.W. Gay's War Effort - Raids 35 and 36

This page from Lt D.W. Gay's 'War Effort' covers raids 35 and 36.

Raid 35 was an attack on the 29th SS to the north-west of Argenta on 13 April 1945, but thick cloud prevented Gay's formation dropping their bombs.

Raid 36 was an attack on enemy troop concentrations to the north-west of Argenta on 14 April 1945, carried out to support the final Eighth Army campaign in Italy. This time the result was a lemon, as the bombs over-shot.

Many thanks to Martin Hampton, the son in law of Lt. Gay, for sending us this material. These pages come from Gay's own private notebook which began with similar infomation to his flight log, but became more detailed, and also included a number of interesting items that had been pasted in.
