Lt D.W. Gay's War Effort - Messages of Appreciation
This page from Lt D.W. Gay's 'War Effort' contains a message of congratulations sent to No.12 Squadron, SAAF, containing messages from an un-named Lt. Col, the Canadians, the Chief of Staff (of what isn't entirely clear) and General Leese, the commander of the Eighth Army when the message was sent late in 1944.

Many thanks to Martin Hampton, the son in law of Lt. Gay, for sending us this material. These pages come from Gay's own private notebook which began with similar infomation to his flight log, but became more detailed, and also included a number of interesting items that had been pasted in.
