Aftermath of Fighting, Tanapag Beach, Saipan
Here we see the aftermath of a Japanese attack on the Americans on Tanapag Beach, Saipan, during the fighting in early July 1944. The Japanese attack was repulsed, but clearly at some cost to the Americans, although the two tanks appear to be bogged down rather than damaged.
