Survivors from U-472 or U-973
Here we see some survivors from either U-472 or U-973 (or both) on the deck of a drifter that was part of the escort for Convoy RA 57. This was the return version of Convoy JW 57, the first of the Arctic convoys to be accompanied by an aircraft carrier (HMS Chaser). U-472 and U-973 were both sunk while attacking RA 57, and both had survivors.
