Sunday Service on HMS Scylla off Normandy

Sunday Service on HMS Scylla off Normandy
Here we see a Sunday service being taken by the chaplain on the deck of the Dido class cruiser HMS Scylla, in the Normandy beachhead area. Note part of the massive invasion fleet in the background. This picture must have been taken on either 11 June or 18 June, as the Scylla hit a mine on Friday 23 June and was so badly damaged that she was considered a constructive total loss and never repaired.
