Generals Stilwell and Boatner, Northern Burma, 1944
Here we see General Joseph W. Stilwell (left), at the time (1944) commander of American troops in the Chinese theatre, which included northern Burma, and his Chief of Staff, General Haydon L. Boatner (in the glasses), during a visit to the front in Northern Burma. Later in the year he finally went too far in his arguments with Chiang Kai-Shek and was replaced.
