Sopwith Type 860 in Flight

Sopwith Type 860 in Flight

Here we see a Sopwith Type 860 seaplane torpedo bomber, powered by a 225hp Sunbeam Mohawk engine. Although a lot of work when into this type, it wasn't a success. This example has a full width lower wing, introduced in one of several attempts to improve the type. By the end of 1915 all but one had been removed from service.
