Here we see a Sopwith Pub landing on the rear landing deck added to HMS Furious in the winter of 1917-1918. Experimental arrestor gear with the cables running along the length of the deck and skids replacing the wheels on the aircraft is use - this was presumably meant to get the runners to catch under the cables then rise up onto the small platform and stop.
