Plans of SMS Von der Tann
These plans show the first German battlecruiser SMS Von der Tann, generally considered to be a better design than the first generation of British battlecruisers. She carried eight 11in guns in four twin turrets. The two amidships turrets were had an impressively wide arc of fire of 125 degrees on the opposite side of the ship, partly because of the small superstructure and partly because they were carried further inboard than on her rivals.
