Plans of SMS Prinz Heinrich

Plans of SMS Prinz Heinrich
These plans show the second German armoured cruiser, SMS Prinz Heinrich. She was lighter but faster than the first armoured cruiser, SMS Furst Bismarck, with thinner armour and only two 240mm (9.4in) gun sin place of the four carried on the earlier ship. She also carried ten 150mm (5.9in) guns in a two level citadel, the standard layout on German armoured cruisers. However the lower five guns were too close to the sea, and flooded easily. This was a common fault in cruisers of the period, both in the British and German fleets.
