Here we see the route printed on a Short Snorter certificate that was issued to Sgt James W. Taylor after he was flown across the Mediterreanean on a bomber from the 92nd Bombardment Group. The route from Istres in the south of France to Casablance was over the ocean for almost its entire length, carefully avoiding the airspace over Franco's Spain.
