Here we see the senior officers at RAF Ballykelly being presented to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth during a royal visit to the base in 1942. From left-to-right we see W/C McBratney (C/O 120 Sqn), S/L Gates (12o Sqn), S/L Noble (RAF Rept), F/L Haller (Adj, 120 Sqn), G/C Pritchett and King George VI. Queen Elizabeth is hidden behind Pritchett, although one arm is visible.
Many thanks to Peter Claydon for sending us these pictures, which belonged to his father, C.W.J. Claydon, who spent much of the war serving as a medical officer with No.120 Squadron at Ballykelly, Northern Ireland.
