L. Patrascanu signing Romanian Armistice, 1944
Here we see Lucretiu Patrascanu, a senior Romanian communist, signing the Romanian armistice with the Soviet Union on 12 September 1944. He had also played a major role in the coup that overthrew Marshal Antonescu, and joined the post-war Communist government, but he soon fell out with the leadership, was arrested and eventually executed.
