Paperwork for Robert Burrows, RAF

Here we see various documents and medals relating to the RAF career of Robert Burrows. The blue book contains details of Burrows' service. He was in the RAF from 5 July 1943 until 4 March 1947, and qualified as a Pilot and an Airfield Controller. His own training took place in 1943, and he then served in the United States and Canada from 3 April 1944 to 15 April 1945, working at the British Flying Training Schools, a series of pilot training schools set up in the States to allow the RAF expand more rapidly than could be achieved in the crowded skies over the United Kingdom. The two medals are the Defence Medal (on the left with the green and orange colours) and the 1939-1945 War Medal (on the right, with the red, white and blue ribbon).

Many thanks to Roy Dutton for sending us these pictures.
