Rees seen across the Rhine

Rees seen across the Rhine
Here we see the town of Rees, on the east bank of the Rhine, from the west bank. Rees was the site of some of the main resistance to the Allied crossing of the Rhine, and wasn't cleared until 26 March 1945. The town had been hit by Allied bombers earlier in the year, and as can be see here was badly ruined.
