Qutab Minar (2)

Qutab Minar (2)

Here we see the Qutab Minar, the tallest brick mosque in the world. The first three floors were built during the reign of Qutb al-Din Aibak, founder of the Delhi Sultanate, starting in 1199. The top two floors were built by Iltitmish, the next Sultan.

Many thanks to Ken Creed for sending us these pictures, which were taken by his wife's uncle Terry Ruff during his time with No.357 Squadron, a special operations unit that operated over Burma, Malaya and Sumatra.
