Princess Elizabeth visiting Grenadier Guards on 18th Birthday
Here we see Princess Elizabeth, the further Queen Elizabeth II, inspecting the band of the Grenadier Guards on 21 April 1944, her eighteenth birthday. The Princess was the Regimental Colonel of the regiment from 1942 until she became Queen, at which time she became Colonel-in-Chief and was replaced as Colonel.
