US Plan of S-boat (Germany)
This plan from a US Recognition magazine of 1944 shows a typical S-Boat, the successful German motor torpedo boats known to the Allies as the 'E-Boat' for reasons that are no longer entirely clear. One theory is that it stood for Enemy Boat, but that does seem a rather generic description, and as the wartime caption shows the correct name was known at the time.
