Plans of Kasuga Class Armoured Cruiser

Plans of Kasuga Class Armoured Cruiser
These plans show the Kasuga class armoured cruisers, with the gun layout of Kasuga, which was armed with one 10in and two 8in guns. Nisshin carred four 8in guns in two twin turrets instead. These ships were ordered by Argentina during an arms race with Chile, but were no longer needed after the British helped negotiate the Pacts of May. The Japanese then bought them to counter the Russian navy in the Far East. They were built in Italy, as part of a long series of cruisers based on the Giuseppe Garibaldi.
