US Plan of the Graf Zeppelin

US Plan of the Graf Zeppelin
This plan from a US Recognition magazine of 1944 shows the incomplete German carrier Graf Zeppelin. The grid puts it at 850ft long, slightly over its real length. The layout is mainly accurate, including the rather old-fashioned looking ends of the flight deck. The carrier was almost complete in September 1939, and if work had continued on her at the same pace might have been complete by the middle of 1940, but work was suspended in May 1940. Work resumed between May 1942 and January 1943, but by 1944 she was at Stettin, where no work was carried out.
