Pfalz D.III from the left
This view of the Pfalz D.III shows its neatly streamlined fuselage, somewhat marred by the exposed engine cylinders of its Mercedes engine. The nose was less streamlined on the D.IIIa, which carried its guns on top of the fuselage.
