Panzer IV ausf D from front
Here we see a front view of the Panzer IV ausf D, probably taken somewhere in North Africa. This version of the Panzer IV had an armoured shield for the coaxial machine gun, and the view ports on the front of the superstructure jutted out just in front of the armour. On the ausf E extra armour was added, which enclosed the vision ports.
