Abandoned Panther Tanks north of Rome

Abandoned Panther Tanks north of Rome
Here we see two Panther tanks knocked out by the Allies during the advance north from Rome towards the Albert Line, the first German defensive position north of the city. The tank on the left is probably a Panther ausf A, which had a new commander's cupola, and a downwards wedge of superstructure at the rear of the vehicle, just about visible behind the track screen.
