Here we see a pair of Lockheed P-38 Lightnings in flight, carrying drop tanks under the wings that alter their appearance. This makes it a P-38F, G or H, as the ability to carry the drop tanks was added on the F and a new engine on the J, with vertical air intakes below the engines. .
