RAF Flyover at Oslo, 1945 (2 of 2)

Here we see see a squadron of Spitfires flying in formation during an undated victory parade in Oslo (possibly on 15 September 1945 as the collection contains another picture of a parade in Oslo that was taken on that date). The Spitfires have an air intake under each wing, which would match the Spitfire Mk.IX used by No.129 Squadron. The statue is the Karl Johan memorial in Palace Square, Oslo.

Many thanks to Pauline Law for allowing us to post these pictures, which came from her father Charles Rendell's collection. He served with the service echelons for No. 170 Squadron and then No.129 Squadron, and took part in the post-war liberation of Norway
