This picture shows the 9th regular Initial RAF Flying Training Course at Sywell which ran from August to October 1937.

Sqdn Ldr CJ Callingham AFC ( then Acting Pilot Officer) is fourth from the right on the back row. This was his first stop after travelling from New Zealand to Britain to join the RAF.
