North American Mustang II in flight

North American Mustang II in flight
This aerial shot shows one of the last Mustang IIs in RAF service in the summer of 1944. The Mustang II was retained by a small number of tactical reconnaissance squadrons, and was used over Normandy. The Allison-engined Mustangs can be recognised by the air intake above the nose. This picture also shows a fully deployed rear radiator.
