Miles Magister L8338 in Flight
Here we see Miles Magister L8338 in flight, with the pilot in the rear of the two cockpits, each of which carried controls. The Magister was the RAF's first monoplane trainer, but was also used as a liaison aircraft and on other similar duties. This aircraft appears to have been written off after a crash near Yeadon airfield on 7 November 1939, when the aircraft stalled while the pilot was attempting to avoid trees. The pilot survived the crash. At the time it was being used by No.50 Group.
