Camouflaged lake at Hanover
Here we see the floating camouflage that was built to try and hide the Maschsee, an artifical lake that had been built just to the south of the centre of Hanover during the 1930s. During the war it became a major liability, as it acted as an excellent navigation aid for British bombers.
