Marines attack Japanese cave position, Okinawa
The Japanese made good use of caves to provide defensive positions across the Pacific. Here we see a group of Marines carefully watching the mouth of a cave that has just been collapsed by an explosive charge, on the approaches to Naha on Okinawa.
