LCT397 lands truck at Civitavecchia
Here we see Landing Craft Tank 397 landing a truck at the port of Civitavecchia, a key Allied target during the Allied advance north from Rome in the summer of 1944. The port was soon opened by naval working parties, giving the Allies a supply base north of Rome.
