US Troops landing on Cebu, 1945
Here we see US troops landing on the east coast of Cebu, during the return to the island in 1945. The Japanese were caught by surprise, and the initial landings were only opposed by small arms and mortars, as well as mines and booby traps on the beach. The main battle on the island took place in Cebu City (26 March-8 April 1945).
