kurzer 8cm Granatenwerfer 42 from the front
Here we see the kurzer 8cm Granatenwerfer 42, designed for use by paratroopers, although by the time it entered service in 1941 the Germans rarely risked their paratroopers on airborne missions. Instead it was used to replace the 5cm Granatwerfer 36, which was too complex and too heavy for the shell it fired.
