King George V Memorial, Delhi

King George V Memorial, Delhi

This wartime picture shows the King George V Memorial, Delhi, in its original position. Since Indian Independence the statue has been moved to the Coronation Park, leaving the canopy empty.

Many thanks to Ken Creed for sending us these pictures, which were taken by his wife's uncle Terry Ruff during his time with No.357 Squadron, a special operations unit that operated over Burma, Malaya and Sumatra.
