Kawanishi N1K1-J 'George' with cannon pods
Here we see a Kawanishi N1K1-J Shiden (Violet Lightning) Model 11 'George', carrying extra cannon in pods under the wings. This is an example of the first production version of the aircraft, which had mid mounted wings, which in turn required the use of very long undercarriage legs, as can be seen here.
