Commando and Italian POW on Cherso

Here we see a Commando talking to an Italian POW captured on the island of Cherso (or Cres), on the eastern coast of the Adriatic, which had been awarded to Italy after the First World War.

The attack was part of Operation Gradiant I, which was carried out to destroy a swing bridge half way along the island of Losinj, next to Cres, to block a channel being used by German shipping.
