Indian Troops approaching the Arno
Here we see a column of Indian troops approaching the Arno, ready to take part in the first attacks on the Gothic Line, in the autumn of 1944. That would place this picture towards the end of Operation Olive, a British attack aimed at crossed the Arno and Gothic Lines, but put these troops on the Fifth Army front, which included the Arno and suggest they were part of the 8th Indian Infantry Division.
