Indian Universal Carrier on road to Pignataro
Here we see Indian troops from the Eighth Army advacning towards Pignataro, in the lower Liri valley, supported by Universal Carriers. Pignataro is almost due south of Cassino town, and its capture saw the Allies begin to encircle the defenders of Cassino (fourth battle of Cassino).
