Here we see the flying log for Ian Walters for April-May 1945. This covers his brief time as an operational combat pilot with No.322 Squadron, and records six flights in five different Spitfire XVIs before the fighting ended. Four were combat missions - one low level bombing raid, two armed reconnaissance missions and one dive bombing mission. Two weeks later the mood has changed, with a victory fly past over Hannover, Bremen and Wilhemshaven.
