Hawker Hurricanes on the Trans-African Ferry Route
This picture shows the sections of a number of Hawker Hurricanes being prepared for assembly at the western end of the trans-Africa ferry route, for a long time the only way to get aircraft from Britain to the fighting area in Egypt. Having been assembled on the west African coast, the aircraft were flown in stages across the continent.
