Mine damage to HMS Viking

Mine damage to HMS Viking
Here we see the damage caused to the Tribal class destroyer HMS Viking when she hit a mine on 29 January 1916. Luckily the two parts of the ship stayed together, the Viking stayed afloat, and she was able to reach safety. She was then repaired and returned to service.
