HMS Templar returns from patrol in Far East, 1944

Here we see the T class submarine HMS Templar returning to its depot ship at Columbia, Ceylon, at the start of February 1944. On this patrol she hit the Japanese cruiser Kitakami with two torpedoes in the Malacca Strait. The cruiser was damaged, but was towed to safety, repaired, and was one of the few Japanese cruisers to survive the war.
